I keep reading this "long, drawn out" race is bad for the Dems...why is that? Maybe, just maybe, the fact there is still a race is keeping people interested.

Certainly, the various attacks on each other might play into the GOP's hands come the fall, but are any of us so navie as to believe that the GOP was not going to bring these issues up?

And while you can claim that Hilary or Bill saying that only she and McCain love this country, or only she and McCain have experience, how is it really going to play when McCain starts playing sound bites from someone Obama can paint as a sore looser (and will those comments from Hilary or Bill really convince anyone that wasn't going to vote for McCain already?)

Truth is, the long "CLOSE" campaign has kept people interested in the Dems. If Hilary or Obama had clinched the nomination, no one would be talking about them and the upcoming primaries...no one would be clamoring for another debate (ooh, television and free advertising).

Stop getting taken in by the right-wing wishful thinking that the long campaign is dividing the party. It's creating more interest, not less.

About all you can worry about is that Hillary or Obama will shoot herself or himself in the foot.
