Let's be realistic. McCain hasn't been vetted by the media yet. He was the lesser of the Republican evils in their minds and they let him slide on all sorts of scandals that will be brought up once the Dem nominee has been selected. Here are just a few:

The Keating Five
Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain
Lowell Paxon & McCain ethics violations

Who knows how many more scandals that the MSM is sitting on that have yet to be brought to the surface.

I think this is really just a temporary boost for McCain - think about the news coverage of him the last two months.
Things will level off to the typical 45-45% that it was before.

I don't necessarily want to support McCain, but if it comes down to McCain and Hillary. I'm going McCain. I respect the man, and I believe he would make a perfectly fine president. I trust him more than Hillary, for whom I have only grown contempt for during this election. I was a Clinton Supporter, but I don't trust her any longer. I believe she will do anything at any cost to become president regardless of what it does to the country. I think McCain has shown over the years that he cares more about the country than his status in it. Now McCain or Obama, I'm going Obama.
