My sympathies for Dean are minimal--he and his party cohorts set the stage for this when they started playing with primary schedules nearly two years ago. In any case, not one supe is going to make a decision based on when Dean thinks they should. They’ll be perfectly happy to wait and let this play out.

In this clip Dean says that he wishes superdelegates would declare "starting now". He then says he would like them to have declared by July, after all the primaries are complete. This is not new and is consistent with what Dean has been saying for a while, and in similar clips on other stations. In any case, not one supe is going to make a decision based on when Dean thinks they should. They'll be perfectly happy to wait and let this play out. If, Obama can close the deal in PA or IN the race will be over next week. If Obama cannot close the deal despite outspending Clinton 4 to 1, more superdelegate will have more questions whether he is the right person to lead the ticket, and will wait for subsequent primaries.
