Miriam -- that is a noble take, and perhaps a correct one. I think she was evoking a demographic fact based on race and class. She was using race and that is pathetic, but what is that they say about not throwing stones in glass houses. Both the Obamas and the Clintons are cross-racial political creatures. Both houses are familar with the politics of racial intersection. Obama used his racist-nut Rev. Wright for political ends. If the Democratic party is torn along racial lines it will not solely be the fault of Hillary Clinton overtly eliciting support based on racial identification. Obama's entire religious creed involves racial self-indentification and race-based support.

BTW, who is the true candidate of Hope now? Yes, we can.

It is crystal clear. Clinton as all too many elistists believes that working people in places such as WV are ignorant racists.
I'm a New Yorker, (a real one born & bred) but I've lived in other places in the US & the world. I know that NY elitists sense of superiority is erroneous. I know that working people in the South & Midwest are often in a real sense less racist & bigoted than the PC NY DC crowd.
I believe that the people of WV will show the Clintons & their elite supporters how wrong they are.

I think the first scenario in Avinash's comment is the more likely one. And for that, Clinton's already lost my vote in 2012. This is not to say that I don't appreciate her tactics, or the fact that she's not giving up easily. There is at least some merit in that, just not the kind that'll get her into the Oval office.

Clinton strikes me as being the same kind of democrat as we've had for the last several decades, just as McCain is the same kind of republican we've had... I truly believe. And I think the country is sick of the same old same old government. It is precisely why I didn't vote for Clinton in this election. Not because I think she would be a bad president, but because she's not different enough.

Obama is a fresh face and promises to be at least a different brand of democrat. In fact, I strongly identify with his personal conservatism and political liberalism. That and he truly captures the high standard of eloquence I demand from someone who's going to spend a lot of time speaking in front of a national and international public.

While I am not so naive to think that if Obama is elected, America's problems will go away overnight, I do believe he can be a catalyst for setting a different and more introspective tone in which the way our government operates which will get this great country moving in the right direction again.

Bill Clinton is the one who has lost his marbles apparently. Hopefully, she will be more realistic and pragmatic--as she is supposed to be in comparison with Bill Clinton. Maybe this is just their idea of how they should continue UNTIL they drop out after KY. One can only hope.

Like I said I think she's positioning herself for one of two things, both horrifying to me, either she wants to divide the base far enough that Obama can't win in November and then try again in 2012, or she wants to hurt him until the convention then defect over to McSame
