Gallup: Obama Leads By 2
By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, Democrats, Hillary, PollsLooks like he’s not getting the post NC/IN bump he was hoping for.

These results are based on May 6-8 interviewing, with roughly two-thirds of the interviews completed after the results of the North Carolina and Indiana primaries were known. The discussion among political experts following Obama’s big North Carolina win and Clinton’s slim Indiana victory has centered on when, not if, Clinton will drop out of the nomination contest. With just six smaller state primaries remaining, it is unlikely Clinton can overcome Obama’s lead in pledged convention delegates.Despite this talk, Obama remains in a statistical dead heat with Clinton for the 16th consecutive day. After a stronger showing in Wednesday’s interviewing, Obama just barely edged out Clinton in Thursday interviewing, leaving him with just a two percentage point advantage in the three-day rolling average that also includes Tuesday’s night-of-primary interviewing. Saturday’s update will be the first to include completely post-Indiana/North Carolina interviewing.
More tomorrow…

Just want to say thanks to you and Alan for all your hard work. I know this isn’t easy and I really appreciate it. I’m kind of a Donklephant whore, as I check back around 20 times a day or so. I should also take some time to thank some of the other contributors, specifically MW.

I’m sure I’m speaking for Alan and mw when I say “No, thank you!”
Seriously. The more people who come to the site daily and add thoughtful comments to the discussion like you do make this is much more rewarding experience.

Shows that Hillary is still a strong contender.
New LA Times Poll also shows her beating McCain by a wider margin than Obama.
And she’s expected to win a landslide victory in WV Tuesday night.
So why would or should she drop out?
