Obama-Biden Ticket?
By Jennn Fusion | Related entries in Barack, Biden, VeepJoe Biden appeared on ABC’s “This Week” and fielded George Stephanopoulos’ question about the VEEP spot. “There’s going to be all kinds of speculation,” Biden said, carefully selecting the generic “safe” response. “I’m up for reelection. I’m running for reelection to the United States Senate. I’m chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee. I’ve made it clear I’m not looking for that job, and …”
“But you won’t turn it down,” Stephanopoulos pushed further.
“Well, you know, anybody that’s asked by their nominee to be their running mate, you’d have to consider it,” Biden admitted for the first time. “How could you just blow it off? You can’t do that. And — but I don’t anticipate that happening.”

Why Joe Biden, you say? Jesus – have you heard the man speak? He’s witty, he’s informed and he’s cut-throat. Who better to make a mockery of the competition better than this seasoned senator?
In recent weeks, you may have caught a Biden sound bite where he’s dismissed President Bush’s attacks on the Democratic nominee (presumably Obama) as “bullshit” and “malarkey” – which shows that he’s ready to go to bat for the Democratic party. McCain has always been respected for his Straight Talk, as has Biden — thus making him a rather formidable force.
These days, Joe is also forward-thinking about how we can eliminate the global food crisis and fight crime / bolster defenses against terror at home. The GOP party is already ramping up to launch an Obama assault on his (lack of) foreign policy experience. However, with a Joe Biden attack-dog at his side, they’ll have a much tougher time making a credible case. He also has his old campaign website still updated, which implies that he’s looking for a prominent position in the next administration — a position that he’d be completely suitable for.
An Obama-Biden “ticket brand” would exude: persuasive public speaking, daring but calculated in foreign policy, full of progressive solutions and aimed at changing all the “malarkey” in Washington.

Biden as Obama’s VP would excite me more than a 5 pounds of crack would excite Amy Winehouse.

Amy Winehouse would be a more responsible choice as VP than Joe Biden. Amy Winehouse would certainly embody more of that “change” that Obama likes to shout about so much.
No, I’d rather see Chuck Hagel, or some other very moderate Republican. THAT is the kind of VP choice that would shake the rafters. And it would be a choice that not even McCain could match.

Biden had plagiarism problems back in the 1980s. We don’t need that dragged out again. It diminishes his credibility, and it comes too soon after cries of “plagiarism” from the Clinton campagin against Obama.

Joe Biden would be the perfect VP for the Obama. He would be able to clearly defend Obama against the McCain/Republican attacks and put McCain on the defensive while Obama stays on message. He can appeal to those “Working White Voters” in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, NJ, Indiana and appeal to the Independants in the Virgina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Oregan. He provides knowledge on a variety of issues and especially on National Security. He has a great background and story.
I think Senator Obama should invite Senator Biden on a trip to Iraq for an audition.
I still think he need the Clintons to campaign to their supporters in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, and Nevada to support Obama. Senator CLinton should take her name off the VP short list and say that she is going to have input in the selection.

Obama and Biden would make a strong ticket. Obama is a candidate who has the rare ability to bring in voters who haven’t been involved in politics before and his ability to give great speeches that inspire change. Biden brings to the ticket his vast knowledge of Foreign Affairs and his track record of leading both parties to united change. With a man that inspires others and a man that can bring about results what a great combination.
