From long years of observation as a Kansan I’d say they just hate her less than they hate the far-right fire-breathers the GOP keeps putting on the statewide ballot. I voted for her and I certainly don’t love her.

If Obama were running aginst Huckabee unleashed with his “God’s Army” speeches, there would be a shot at Kansas. Against McCain, no. Not as things stand now.

I like McCaskill a lot and think she could probably guarantee Missouri for Obama, but she has even less senatorial experience than he does. Between the two of them they've got about 5 years of experience in Washington, and that just doesn't contrast well with McCain. Still, either would be fine--I think the best way to win over most of Hillary's older female supporters (besides putting HRC on the ticket) is to have a female running mate.
