Group Vows Half-Million Supporters Will Back Hillary in General Election

Organization cites surging membership and closeness of previous elections in their promise to impact ‘08 elections

June 4, 2008 — HillaryGrassrootsCampaign.com, an organization with upwards of half-a-million supporters, announced today it is committed to breaking ranks with the Democratic Party and supporting Senator Hillary Clinton in the general election – regardless of her status as the party’s nominee.

HillaryGrassrootsCampaign.com is not associated with the official Hillary Clinton campaign. However, the organization says it is filled with disaffected supporters who are ready to be “former” Democrats because of the contempt and disregard that has been shown to the many party faithful who support Sen. Clinton’s presidential candidacy.

“We’ve already registered more than half-a-million supporters and our numbers are growing daily,” said Robin Carlson, HillaryGrassrootsCampaign.com’s campaign representative. “The treatment from the Democratic Party and the media of this historic candidate has energized voters across our nation,” Carlson added. “To throw that support away with such contempt and disregard would be a huge mistake.”

This is what Hillary not conceding is doing to the Democratic party.

Hope she can live with that.

I promise not to get too tired of saying “I told you so” any time soon. :-) But I’ll try not to say it too irritatingly often.

Next we meet, the first drink’s on me.

    Insane.

    This is painful.

My favorite post on their site is titled “Jimmy Carter Is Dead To Me.” Apparently, Carter —being the horrid, death-deserving bastard that he always is— has stated that he thinks that it would be a tactical mistake for Obama to choose Clinton as VP.

    These people are scary.

Hope that’s a lot sooner than a year from now! :-)

Petition to ask Barack Obama to formally reject HRC’s VP bid.

Wouldn’t it be interesting to see the reaction that the following question would get from her?

“Senator Clinton, when did you, along with Howard Wolfson and Harold Ickes, decide that it was acceptable to destroy the chances of the Democratic Party to win the Presidency if you were not the nominee?”

Just to see the look on her face…and the “co-conspirators” if we were lucky enough to have them all there.

Well, Justin, if we could get you to join KaCSFFS and get Tully to make a road trip to a meeting…

    Jim,

You bring up an interesting point, that I really hadn’t thought of. I’ve been racking my brain to why she was keeping this thing going, when over a month ago, she knew she lost (well, everyone else did). Maybe she did figure if she sabotaged the election, and given the uncertain times we live in at the moment (housing, gas, food prices, recession), the next president is going to have a hard time of it. If McCain wins, he’ll most like “stay the course”, be a failed first term. She could run again in 2012, with a “Don’t make the same mistake twice approach” See what my husband did after Reagan and Bush I, I can do that too after Bush I and McCain. It’s food for thought. I think she is that calculating, unfortunately.
