Notable Quote
By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, Democrats, Quotes“A black man will be his party’s nominee to be president of the United States. If you were a betting man and you had to place a bet on who is going to win in November, you would be prudent to place it on him. He is a problematic candidate, but not because of his father’s ancestry; rather, because of his views. He will carry aloft the standard of a great political party and a powerful ideological coalition. This is a culminating moment for the United States.”

Some equally notable quotes from the comments section of Commentary magazine
An incredible number of Americans are willing to vote for an utterly unqualified man simply to prove “I’m not a racist.
I had no idea the only reason people were supporting him was racial guilt. Wow.
We should be minimally appalled, if not even somewhat horrified that race guilt has brought us to the point where such a radical left-winger like “Barry†Obama may become our next president. This is a wake up call. We don’t have much time left.
Friend, if we can survive eight years of arguably one of the worst presidents in history (who was perhaps even more unqualified than Obama ), I’m betting we have some time left. What worries me is can we fix the mess Bush has got us in?
Once, months ago, I felt a tinge of pride that one of my country’s two major political parties might nominate a black man for the highest office in the land. That was before Senator Obama was revealed to be a corrupt, cowardly, dishonest, disloyal, arrogant, and willfully ignorant demagogue who never stepped into a river downstream of which he would not sell out our national interests and who cannot open his mouth without insulting every one of this nation’s most cherished ideals.
Get your pride back–you’re being brainwashed by the far right war machine. And, “corrupt, cowardly, dishonest, disloyal, arrogant, and willfully ignorant demagogue”—hello pot, the kettle is calling. If ever a better description of W. could be written, I have not seen it.
Willfull blindness aptly describes those ‘hungry for change’. Nothing you, I or any expert you might suggest will change their minds. Facts are ignored or denied even now and the MSM hasn’t even gotten started…
This is racial guilt thing, again, right? How does the willful blindness to the corruption and national stain placed on this country by Bush and company working out for you?
…we all need to stop saying Obama is black, because he is NOT. We know his background. He is as white as anyone, considering where, how and by whom he was raised. Then factor in his “white†education. Why is he black? Because his irresponsible mother slept with, then married an African while she was drunk and being an atheist liberal in Hawaii back in the early 60s? Please.
This guy just scares the crap out of me. ’nuff said
This is why the far right scares me so….they have completely lost touch with reality.
