Obama Will Accept Public Financing…
By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, Democrats, McCain, Money, Republicans…if the RNC will keep their spending in check.
To what degree isn’t quite clear, but now that Obama is the general election candidate, he’s honoring his promise to try and work out a deal with McCain.
Obama said he’ll accept public financing for his campaign — which would limit the amount of spending — only if McCain agrees to curb spending by the Republican National Committee. “I won’t disarm unilaterally,” he said.Obama has raised about $265 million to date, while McCain has raised about $90 million.
So yes, this is vague, but it’s a first step.
We’ll be following what McCain and the Republicans have to say in response.

He’s going to make sure his request is so heavily stacked that McCain will be forced to say no, like requiring that all 527’s be dismantled and no lobbyist money, etc.
This will allow him to walk away saying he wanted to come to an agreement, but McCain was the Hypocrite, its a brilliant move on Obama’s part

Just wondering Avinash, does the Church of Obama worship on Saturday or Sunday?

lol, I find it funny that you believe that supporting Obama is somehow worship or something like a cult or something.
I know that this may be beyond you, but the reason people support him is because they feel he is the best person for the job and possibly the best cantidate we’ve had in decades.
It also helps that his competition has been Hillary and McCain, and the current president is Bush. People are sick of the Bush family (and McSame) along with the Clintons.
So great cantidate and bad alternatives.

Well Bob, since the Church of the Free Market and Limited Health Care convenes every single day, maybe you can give Avinash his Saturdays and Sundays, eh?

It’s all a ruse, and the hypocrisy of the Obama left is utterly predictable. Because Obama has a huge money lead he will do just as Avinash described, and if you fall for it you should have the voting booth door slammed in your face. If anything is ever going to change in this country, American citizens are gong to have to demand better from their representatives. In the case of Obama, it will be tough to demand better from your knees.
