Gallup, now has Obama with a 6 point lead, which shows a trend between the two polls.

Here it is...here's the <a href="http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/maps/obama_vs_mccain/" rel="nofollow">composite map at RCP</a>, this is the thing to watch.

It will be interesting to see whether or not trends suggested by the national polls actually manifest themselves in the state-by-states.

How about at least contextualizing it as being of less importance than the composite results constructed from whatever the latest state-by-states show?

The daily roller-coaster of the latest national poll, while it may be a bellweather of wider trends, is of far less interest than the electoral tally based on what you get given the latest poll from each state. I'll keep a look out for such a map. I think RCP had one in 2004.

In other words:

OOOOOH---HI-----OOOOOOOO, Round on the ends and high in the middle.

OOOOOH---HI-----OOOOOOOO, Round on the ends and high in the middle.

OOOOOH---HI-----OOOOOOOO, Round on the ends and high in the middle.
