And I agree it's shallow to use "he's terrible at the podium" as a reason to not vote for him. But I know there're a good number of voters who'll be influenced by it. He also gives strange intermittent, uncomfortable smiles at awkward moments. It's so distracting, I find I don't listen to what he's actually saying. Invariably, my mind drifts to, "He's reading from the left prompter now...and now the right one... I wonder why he chose to smile there?...Is he trying to make me like him...I kind of feel sorry for him...I wonder if he eats pudding..." It's very uncomfortable and I have no idea anything he's ever said. Oh, and you're right. I don't think Obama has ever really said anything of substance, but I remember thinking at the time it was genius!
