Honestly, I think he’s going to have to do a lot more of this in the coming months, but if that’s what it takes to disspell idiotic rumors, so be it.

Everyone should actually read the “right wing” link?
After reading several of his posts, I’ve come to the conclusion that this Jim Geraghty guy is definitely a conservative, a republican, and voting for McCain. He’s also about as level-headed and fair as you get.
Thank you for helping me find another solid blogger to my blogroll, I wouldn’t have even seen that site or the blogger without the link.

A father named Stanley who was really hoping for a son, and knew there were not likely to be any more children.

Geraghty plays facts straight up, and doesn’t mangle and misrepresent them to favor his editorialism. As someone who’s debunked a few Obama fever-swamp rumors myself in the interests of dealing from reality and not fantasy I really appreciate that approach, and wish more chatterheads on all sides of the arena would do the same. Geraghty didn’t originate the rumors, they did indeed come out of the right-wing fever swamps.

I hope people read the link. And by linking, it wasn’t a condemnation of Geraghty’s work, but he did elevate the rumors and judged plausbility without any discernible evidence. Personally, I think it’s a fine line, but he seems to be more of an honest broker than not.

Geraghty didn’t elevate the rumors nearly as much as the Obama campaign itself did in not releasing the document to the media when asked by the media. The only reason I can see why they did not is that the parent’s names are different–Dunham is still using her maiden name, a much scarcer occurrence for a married woman in 1961 than today.
The easily predictable: Anti-Obamites will now play him up as an illegitimate child. Next irrelevant* record search, the marriage license registration. And when/if that’s produced, they’ll make much of BHO Sr’s bigamy in marrying Dunham in the first place. That’ll be followed by the attempt to dig out the divorce filings from 1964.
[*--to state the obvious, Obama had absolutely zero choice in approving his parent's actions before he was born or when he was a child, and you don't get to pick your relatives, only learn to deal with them. You can pick your friends and steady acquaintances, so that's somewhat relevant. But this? Heh.]

THIS CERTIFICATE IS SUCH A BAD FOGERY I AM LED TO BELIEVE THEY INTENTIONALLY PUT IT OUT THERE SO THEY COULD eventally put the correct one up for everyone to see just so they can claim, “see, they are always making up things.” I MEAN THIS THING IS SO OBVIOJUSLY FRAUDULENT IT DOEST TAKE AN EXPERT TO BEGIN LISITNG THE FLAWS… LETS BEGIN WITH THE OBVIOUS.
1. has Hawaii changed the weight and pattern of paper for their b.Certi? this one has a pattern inconsistent with with other certificates of the period.
(and could someone please put one up that was issued in the same year of his birth?)
2. there is a black square band that goes all along on the inside border continuously - - - obama’s has the black only in the middel at the top and at the bottom.
3. the typeface on the pertinent permanent portions of the form is inconsistent with the normal form - - - and that’s just for beginners.
(I’M GOING TO LET THE BLACKED OUT NUMBER SLIDE BECAUSE THEY COULD HAVE DONE THAT INTENTINALLY, BUT THE OTHER STUFF IS CRITICAL AND IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE BEEN CANGED UNLESS THEY PREPARED A SEPCIAL FORM JUST FOR HIM.)
