Jesse Jackson is an old has been crackpot. He has fancied himself a prophet of sorts ever since he was associated with Martin Luther King Jr. This guy is disparate to stay in the lime light. It's pathetic when people do good things so feed their ego rather than just do good for good's sake.

This is another example of the strained generational relationship between Sen. Barack Obama and the established black political power base. He has become a victim of generation who watched crack, poor education and rapid unemployment cripple the black community and blamed it all on white people and rap music. Now Obama a member of that generatin has siezed the reigns of power in the Democratic party and in the black community and reshaping both institutions. He may be a an opportunistic politician that vacillates on Iran, Iraq or the death penalty, but one thing he is not is an identity politician. That narrative belongs to Jesse Jackson and Al sharpton and it is becoming old news. The faster a new narrative is crafted, the quicker that style of politics dies and with it a generation of black politicians that failed their community.

GORY, UNVERIFIED, AND SCARY! (X-RATED!)
July 10th, 2008
Persecution of Christians

Christians are persecuted by Muslims in many parts of the world, including in the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority. Though Christians made up 75% of the Bethlehem population 60 years ago, their numbers have declined to around 10% today. Christian residents flee Bethlehem by the hundreds every year due to intimidation, economic boycotts and violent acts committed against them by Muslim residents. Churches are frequent targets of attacks in many parts of the Middle East and Africa. In some countries, such as Saudi Arabia, churches are outlawed and Christian worship is banned. Up to 250 million Christians worldwide will face persecution and repression in 2007, simply for following Jesus Christ, according to the latest roundup of the world’s persecution hotspots by Release International.

This young 12-year old schoolgirl was beheaded in Indonesia simply for being a Christian. (Senator Barack Hussein Obama attended school in Jakarta, Indonesia. Do watch this brief clip, compliments of al-Jazeera: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tt-KUUlJ81g)

Okay, bad Jesse! I like Jesse more now than I did before the nuts comments. Give Jesse a break - he's had skin in the game for a long time and suddenly he's eclipsed by Obama. He's having to hump for the little prince. And then the little prince sells out the playas for some white evangelical vote. Nice. I'd be pissed if I were Jesse too.

I had wondered what the over/under was on when Obama would start being bashed by his putative supporters as a sellout or an "Uncle Tom". I never expected it to start until after he was already in the White House, though.
