Gallup: Obama Up By 3

Barack gained one since yesterday, but the race remains very tight.

These results are based on interviews conducted July 7-9 with more than 2,600 registered voters nationwide, and are little changed. Both candidates are actively out on the campaign trail, and news media continue to devote substantial resources to coverage of the campaign, but there is little sign at this point in the summer that voters are radically shifting in their perspective on the race. Since June 24-26 polling, when the candidates were even at 44%, the percentage favoring Obama has ranged minimally from 46% to 48% while the percentage preferring McCain has varied just as minimally between 42% and 44%.
