McCain has finally taken a statistically insignificant lead, and as Rasmussen points out, this is the first time he has done this since Obama secured the nomination.
The reason? Independents…
A week ago today, Obama had a three-percentage point lead and the candidates were even among unaffiliated voters. Today, McCain leads 52% to 37% among unaffiliateds.McCain is currently viewed favorably by 55% of the nation’s voters, Obama by 51%. That is the lowest rating for Obama since he wrapped up the nomination. Obama is viewed favorably by 83% of Democrats, 22% of Republicans, and 47% of unaffiliated voters. For McCain, the numbers are 87% favorable among Republicans, 26% among Democrats, and 61% among unaffiliated voters.
Yes folks, the attack ads are working…but for how long?

The “attack ads” are merely effecting the grotesque hype and political celebritism, surrounding the most unvetted and, ultimately vacuously left-wing radical candidate in American history.
The “hope” bong is nearly cashed & thank God the stunning hang-over of what-almost-could-have-been will be realized before manifesting itself at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Obama will soon degenerate into full scale racial histrionics, more eloquent perhaps, but reminiscent of his life-long spiritual leader.

Will you be continuing to note when the poll data shows a lead that is “statistically insignificant?” Is that a new feature, or worthy of mention only when McCain nudges ahead on the latest day’s variation in poll static?
Folks, notice that the state-by-states have hardly changed at all.
