Will it be Obama-Bayh 08?
By Jennn Fusion | Related entries in Veep1. Evan Bayh is mentioned by The Courier-Journal as a top contender for the vice presidency on a very short list.
2.To further the speculation, Obama is planning to hold a town hall meeting in Elkhart Indiana on Wednesday, August 6th with VP hopeful Evan Bayh in attendance, which is fueling speculation that he may be announced then.
3. Furthermore, some say time is ticking for Barack Obama’s VEEP selection. Will he try to beat the mad rush of Olympics coverage that’ll begin August 8th and run through the 24th, will he wait until the first day of the Democratic National Convention (August 25th), or will he just announce mid-Olympics and assume the spotlight will follow? No one knows for sure, but Obama told CNN’s Candy Crowley the next time he talks about his vice presidential selection will be when he’s introducing his nominee. The NY Times reports that Obama aides say the decision is down to five but no formal sit-down interviews have taken place yet, which implies that the campaign is probably weeks from making the final call, rather than days, as previously suggested.
