Rasmussen: Obama Up By 1, 1

With leaners
Obama – 47%
McCain – 46%

Without leaners
Obama – 44%
McCain – 43%

The story today is more of the same as these candidates are neck and neck.

And, it looks like the Georgian conflict is having an effect on voters perceptions on what the most important issue of the campaign is…

Forty percent (40%) of voters now rate the economy as the top issue of Election 2008, down from 44% a week ago. National security concerns are the top priority for 25%, up four points over the last week. It remains to be seen whether this is a temporary blip or the beginning of a lasting change in the race.

Four years ago, the priorities were reversed with 41% naming National Security issues as most important while 26% named economic issues.

08/16/2008: McCain – 45%, Obama – 46%
08/15/2008: McCain – 45%, Obama – 47%
