I'll agree that the cartoon badly overstates the case against a woman voting for Obama. The caricature given is badly our of touch with the reality, so maybe it's too much hyperbole.

Still, given the current state of the SCOTUS and McCain's declared proclivities, if you're a woman and you're pro-choice, it's an easy choice for Obama over McCain, and I think that's what is being suggested. I know Hillary had many male supporters, but I have yet to see much grumbling from them. Among her female supporters, I think most of them are pro-choice, and will make the choice they must, even if they hold their nose to do it.

Fact is, even my wife acknowledges that the anti-Obama sentiment among female Hillary backers is just plain old sour grapes.

No - it would have been funny if Hillary were in the cartoon, and on one side of her is a backer stating that she's staying home, and on the other side is a religious conservative saying "…where you belong". And in the middle Hillary looks conflicted. Or something like that.

The problem with this cartoon is that no one really thinks that McCain is a misogynist. But we know he’s had to placate plenty of misogynists. These are funny when they're true.

So do you folks think that in the cartoon, instead of an apron, McCain should be holding up a new law the requires all pregnant women to bear those children to term?

It would be more accurate. Would it be funnier?

You know what I think is funny? That the race is shaping up to be a battle of who is willing to cut off more nose to spite their face. I am surprised that at this point, women who wanted Hillary seem more eager than socons who wanted Huckabee and hate McCain.

Currently, socons seems to have moved on to the issue of Obama as anti-christ. But hey, there's still plenty of time for liberals to catch up...surely McCain is Satan incarnate.
