And it also fails to note that it is Congress that actually passes the budgets--the president is mostly just the hero or the goat, depending on results. The best the Prez can manage is vetoes and moral suasion. Neither party has shown any excellence at it, and the best performance of modern times was under Clinton AFTER the GOP took the House in '94. But remember that statistically, Dems have been better stewards of the economy by a wide margin. (anyone got the figures on that one - been bandied about lately). So, it's easy to saddle Obama with the "super-liberal and tax and spend" labels, but history has shown that Dems do it better. Amen. I am a life long Republican who is now left with the choice of voting for irrelavency (Ron Paul) or socialism (Obama). WHAT HAPPENED TO FISCAL CONSERVATISIM??? McCain offers no solution to the ever increasing national debt. With Fannie and Freddy both being bailed out by our national government, it seems that no one cares anymore that our country is headed toward financial insolvency. McCain admitedly has little knowledge of economics. Sarah Palin inherited a surplus as Govenor in Alaska and has never dealt with a financial crisis of this kind at any point in her career.
