And with Hollis French at the helm.

From the AP:

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A Republican effort has failed to unseat the Alaska state senator overseeing the ethics investigation into whether Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power when she dismissed the state’s public safety commissioner.

Democratic Sen. Hollis French was accused of manipulating the probe for political effect on the national and state elections. Republican Rep. John Coghill last week asked the Alaska Legislative Council to discuss replacing French as the probe’s project director.

On Monday, the head of the Legislative Council turned down his request. Democratic Sen. Kim Elton responded that he is sure that partisan politics can be kept out of the probe.

What will be McCain’s next move?

The next move is obvious–to continue to attack Hollis French and thereby undermine the credibility of this whole investigation. People seem to be missing the point–the goal is to discredit the investigation, which becomes all the easier if this extreme partisan Hollis French stays on.

I thought this man would have the sense to step aside, but now he will be an albatross around the neck of the investigation, a democrat Ken Starr.

French has made numerous mistakes that leave him open to attack. Dems will be sorry ultimately that this incompetent has compromised the investigation. http://www.notwrightforamerica.com has the skinny, all well researched and sourced.
