Obama Responds To McCain’s Maverick Ad

An effective response I think, especially against Palin’s Bridge To Nowhere claim.
What do you think?
UPDATE:
The ad doesn’t seem to be working anymore, so here’s the text of the ad…
They call themselves mavericks. Whoa. Truth is, they’re anything but. John McCain is hardly a maverick, when seven of his top campaign advisers are Washington lobbyists. He’s no maverick when he votes with Bush 90 percent of the time. And Sarah Palin’s no maverick either. She was for the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it. Politicians lying about their records? You don’t call that maverick. You call it more of the same.
Yes, they actually said “lying.”
The gloves are off.
UPDATE 2:
Ad replaced with one that won’t be taken down.

OK, fine. Effective. Now, could we please stop having Obama ads about McCain and McCain ads about Obama?
I would like to see Obama talk about Obama and McCain talk about McCain–and not more “I’ll fix healthcare!” Tell me how you will fix healthcare….

Gerryf,
Yes, Yes, but talking about issues is so boring. Being side tracked by all this BS is so much more effective, it’s how the MSM goes after a story – more than 10 second sound bites and you’re down in the ratings.
Justin; Did you see J. Biden’s intrvw on Meet the Press? I think he handled the S. Palin question the correct way. He rose above it, said the public will figure it out – if she ever gets around to answering their questions, they’ll decide who’s best for them. Then he went on to discuss the issues like he OWNS them. Being the chairperson on the Foreign Policy Committee I’d say he’s squarely in the middle of that issue. You wanna see Ms. Palin in an intrvw talkin about missing emails? I wanna see her head to head against the foreign policy experience of Mr Biden. He’ll do just fine – his only problem is too much information!

The ad is not effective.
It merely says that McCain is not the maverick he claims to be.
Saying what someone ISN’T never works. You have to say what HE IS.
i.e. a liar, a thief, a corrupt politician, a coward
The Obama campaign must define McCain in their own terms, not argue against republican talking points.

I like to find the humorous side in politics. Look at the type of stuff that is created based on Palin’s “famous” maverick references http://www.cafepress.com/ObamaMaverick08. I’m particularly annoyed by Sarah Palin, especially the maverick lines. SNL’s spoof of the VP debate was priceless.
