As a religious person, I feel the need to respond to the second video. While I don't believe that the church should mess around in the state or the state in the church, I do believe that for religious people, faith does, and should, play an important part in politics. Justin may not care whether or not God condones our actions, but it's important to me that my political leaders, if they are also religious, consider if what they plan is really what God wants for us. I do believe that whatever God wants for us is, indeed, the best path for this country.

In fact, Palin's comment about not wanting God to be on our side but for us to be on God's side I thought was beautifully worded. Religious people have a tendency to try and conform God's will to meet their own so that we never have to wonder if what we are doing is right. Instead, we should be conforming our will to God's will. Also, I was very happy that she made the point to not presume what God's will is. None of us ever can, we can just hope we our following the right path.

Sarah Palin is definitely a fundamentalist. However, the ideas she expresses in this interview are not. Hopefully, every Christian or follower of any religion is always considering what God wants for our country and whether our current path is in sync with the one God wants.

@asc
I think the opposite is true. She is being over groomed. Understandable given the "gotcha" nature of the interview gauntlet she will be facing, but a mistake. Let Sarah be Sarah.

Still - over all - not bad.

If you want a better picture of Palin's grasp of energy issues, check out the Maria Bartiroma interview. This interview was conducted the week before she was selected by McCain. Very impressive.

If she is so knowledgeable she sure didn't show it. I think we are in a world of trouble if McCain/Palin ticket gets in. We need to consider McCains age and think about the what if he dies what will we have. Ifs like giving a person with no gun experience a gun. If he was going to choose a women he should have chose one with the knowledge of foreign policy and globle warming etc. No some one who has 2 be groomed on the matter 50 plus days befor the elections and 2 and a half month before she has to show up for work. I hope all you voters will look at the whole picture here before we all be in a situation we can't correct or get out of.

I thought she'd do better. She seemed programmed. She needs practice at delivery scripted lines with conviction.
