Palin has said the investigation has been hijacked by Democrats. And yet a Republican voted to issue the subpoenas. That's her being naive and simplistic for characterizing it as a Dem witch hunt, not me.

Also, the state's Legislative Council is made up of eight Repubs and five Dems and they voted in July to look into this. I suppose all of those Repubs are after her too?

See, I know things too. They're different things, but they're still valid.

You do know that Huggins was appointed to the state Senate by Palin's GOP nemesis, Murkowski? The incumbent governor she beat out for the office? That Huggins is part of the Old Guard GOP that Palin roundly thrashed for corruption and insider dealing after taking office? That he's opposed Palin throughout her tenure as Governor, including voting against the Trans-Canada Natural Gas Pipeline she engineered?

You do know those things, don't you?

It's naive and simplistic to believe that everything is always about party. It's not.

http://hotair.com/archives/2008/09/16/palin-fires-back-in-troopergate-releases-memos-showing-insubordination/

http://www.adn.com/troopergate/story/527346.html

They throwing the blame at each other, but what I do want to point out is that PALIN (as in the gov'nuh) lodged the initial complaint, not Wooten. Wooten's union apparently lodged it later, possibly when the focus was on her, but who knows.

Regardless, if what Palin says Wooten did is true, which I didn't see either report refute, then what her staffer said rings true: why was the guy around so long? And did she offer him another job later? Man, she almost seems too nice, especially with the whole ex-brother-in-law thing (which MANY people would've done and not even drawn ire). This is extreme political theater. I'm guessing the subpoena her husband received was the last straw.

It sounds like Sen. Huggins is confident there's nothing she needs to hide... Or he's an honest non-partisan... Or he's hoping she'll get reamed when the truth comes out.

Any bets?
