That was one of the most even handed sketches I’ve seen on SNL and I know it was hard for them because, lets face it, it’s very easy to make fun of Palin. As much as they pounced on her, they did her a huge favor when they were contrasting Palin and Clinton.

Clinton: I believe that diplomacy should be the cornerstone of any foreign policy.
Palin: And I can see Russia from my house!

That was the first one but every other point went to Clinton. Still, they gave her that first line and, with Medvedev (i.e. Putin’s Puppet) continuing to turn Russia back into the worlds #2 bully, I can’t blame anyone for feeling that way. Othewise, I think Palin’s off her rocker.

Carly was reaching. The McCainites should be happy that Fey is amplifying and extending the Palin honeymoon. It was really the only funny bit all night long, and as Justin mentioned earlier, it’s something of a badge of honor to be satirized by SNL.

But again, part of the point of Palin’s nomination was to get lefties to discredit their own candidate by arguing that inexperience and superficiality are disqualifiers. The more Dems focus on those aspects of Palin, the bigger hole they dig for Obama. Again, they need to quickly refocus everyone on an issues argument.

Of course it was sexist. It had to be sexist of the satire of sexism wouldn’t have worked.

In order for it to be satiric, they had to make fun of the very sexism they are satirizing. The problem with this one for the right is that Palin got the sexy dumby sexist angles and Hilary got the bitchy sexist angles, and the last thing in the world the right wants is for Palin’s lack of seriousness as a candidate played up.

Carly Fiorina cannot see this as satire because she looked at the portrayal of Hilary and thought she was being portrayed as a strong woman rather than as the “bitch”

Look, if someone calls Palin a “whore”, “tramp”, “wench”, “a good-for-nothing woman who belongs in the kitchen” then I’m totally okay with calling that person out as sexist.

But the SNL skit doesn’t quite fit my definition of sexism.
