Actually, her approval rating is about 64 percent according to more recent polls--you're citing a statistic from back in May. That said, 64 percent is still very nice, but I'd just appreciate it if you would stop following McCain and Palin's lead and start telling actual facts rather than fantasy

Now, the real question I have is who is Don Shiesl? Is he overrating Palin? For all we know, he is no more qualified to judge Palin's readiness to be president than Palin was qualified to judge the qualifications of Franci Havemeister, who Palin appointed to a $95,000-a-year directorship of the Alaska Agriculture Department.

A former real estate agent and high school pal of Palin, Havemeister cited her childhood love of cows as a qualification for running the roughly $2 million agency.

Can anyone here say "Heckuva job Brownie!"

Forget Palin's experience, I'm questionining her judgment.

The difference is that Obama has been scrutinized and ELECTED through a democratic primary process. You can like him or hate him, but you know everything you need to know about him. People voted in the primaries, and now the election will decide. He is no longer a wild card. Also, Obama has a world class education. For some reason, being president is the only job for which people try to claim that education is irrelevant. But I do think education matters. He's a constitutional law professor. The president signs an oath uphold the constitution. There's a connection between his education and the job at hand. With Obama, you know what you're getting. Like it or hate it. You vote for him or against him.

Sarah Palin was APPOINTED by John McCain. We know nothing about her, except that she left her little town in debt. Most of us had never heard of her two weeks ago. McCain does not look well and has a history of poor health. I do not believe he will last through a first term. I think people are concerned that Palin may be a very exciting candidate, but that she just isn't ready. She hasn't been grilled for the last 18 months like Obama. We just don't know enough to hand the country to her. Her speech was great, but her interview on ABC scared me. She didn't seem to really understand any of the questions. It wasn't just the rote answers. She just didn't seem to understand the meaning of the questions or the implications of suggesting that we might need to go to war with Russia. That would mean nuclear war. Huh???? I do find her compelling, but as a VP and potential VP, she just scares me.

I know elections are emotional, but we need to use some common sense here.

So, does anyone have any insider word yet as to how many more years of seasoning in the senate Obama will need before he's "up to snuff?"

Surely we can find an old employee of Obama's to say that he's a "quick study" too.

Oh and by the way, how many budgets has Obama balanced? He was saying in his acceptance speech that he was ready to go through the federal budget line by line. So apparently he has lots of experience with that kind of stuff, right? Sounds awesome to me.

<i>"Maybe that time as Wasilla mayor was not the proper training for the Vice-Presidency. Palin had this to say about her old job, “It’s not rocket science. It’s $6 million and 53 employees.”</i> - Glenn

As usual, Obama acolytes would just like to pretend that that her experience as Governor of Alaska never happened.State of Alaska budget $11.2 Billion and 15,000 people. Which is more that ten times larger than anything Obama has ever managed. With an 80% approval rate of the governed.

And by the way - Obama would also be ready to be President, if he first spent four years as VP. Which, if Democrats had chosen wisely - he would be running for right now.
