Rasmussen: McCain And Obama Tied

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, Biden, Democrats, Economy, Independents, McCain, Palin, Polls, Republicans

McCain – 48%
Obama – 48%

McCain’s bounce is gone and the Palin pick doesn’t seem to have really helped him do much more than capture a couple weeks worth of news cycles.

Perhaps people are less enamored with McCain’s Veep pick given how serious our economic situation has become?

More on that…

As the financial sector meltdown continues, consumer confidence has plummeted, falling 8% overnight. Forty-seven percent (47%) of voters now rate the economy as the top issue of Election 2008. That’s up from 41% this past Saturday morning.

The number saying the country is heading in the right direction fell from 23% on Saturday to 18% now.

If McCain can win in the current climate, it’ll be a minor miracle.

The 5 day:
09/18/2008: McCain – 48%, Obama – 48%
09/17/2008: McCain – 48%, Obama – 47%
09/16/2008: McCain – 48%, Obama – 47%
09/15/2008: McCain – 49%, Obama – 47%
09/14/2008: McCain – 50%, Obama – 47%

More tomorrow…
