Rasmussen: Obama Up By 6

Obama - 50%
McCain - 44%

More fallout from Palin?

McCain drops yet another point today as the first day after the debate has Obama hitting his biggest lead. Only a few other times in the election cycle has he been up over McCain by 6 points, one of which was directly after the Dem convention.

On the bailout…the candidates better tread lightly lest they raise the ire of the American public…

Support for the economic rescue plan is down to 24%, while opposition has increased to 50%. Voters are evenly divided as to whether or not the nation’s politicians are trying to scare voters into supporting the bailout plan by making the economy seem worse than it really is.

A majority believe they politicians are more interested in gaining power for the government than in fixing the economy.

Maybe that’s why both McCain and Obama didn’t really want to say they supported any plan last night. Because while it’s true that a plan isn’t fully formed yet, it’s also true that both men support the essence of the Dodd plan that the House Republicans scuttled.

The 5 day:
09/27/2008: McCain - 44%, Obama - 50%
09/26/2008: McCain - 45%, Obama - 50%
09/25/2008: McCain - 46%, Obama - 49%
09/24/2008: McCain - 47%, Obama - 49%
09/23/2008: McCain - 48%, Obama - 48%

More tomorrow…
