CBS Snap Poll: Biden 46%, Palin 21%

Still, more voters did say their opinion of Palin improved than Biden (55% to 53%). But given how low that opinion was in the first place, that was to be expected if she turned in an adequate performance.

I have no link. Sorry. You’ll just have to trust me.

UPDATE:
Oh, and 33% said they tied.

I’m sure you had figured that out, but just in case you were wondering why the numbers were so low.

I don’t trust any of these polls. Fox news has palin in the 80% range. Whatever you think about fox news, the fact is that conservatives are more likely to be watching on that network, so clearly fox’s polls will be highly in favor of Palin and everyone else will be in favor of biden.

We’ll see what the real polls show in the next few days, and then we’ll know who won.

As a side note, I think people being critical of Palin’s speech patterns could backfire. It’s true that her sentence structures are awkward (I’m not talking about mistatements here, just what some people consider “folksy” in the negative sense). I would certainly expect political junkies to not like her style of speech, but I do think it is strikingly refreshing to “folksy” Americans. Living in the midwest, and not being from the midwest, I certainly know many people who speak similar to that also. (Yes, I added the “also” on purpose). If democrats make fun of her too much for it, they could come across as elitist. I think both sides often make the mistake of assuming the rest of America is just like them.

With that said, I do think she was too vague and Biden was more in control of the issues, as was expected.

Palin, an A for effort, but an F for substance. Clearly a Biden win.

my family tree is rooted firmly in hillbilly land, and i still can’t swallow her “folksy” speech. she sounds uneducated.

On so many of the questions, I kept waiting for her answer. Bottom line … I’m still waiting.
