Chuck Todd Talks Electoral Map On Meet The Press

The math is bleak for McCain.

By the way, I hope NBC gives Todd the Russert slot on MTP after the election. He’s more than earned it with his incredibly dead-on analysis this campaign season.

i disagree about todd on mtp. yes i agree that he has done an adequate job in presenting the numbers but as far as interviewing important people in a tough way? that remains to be seen. the problem with filling the mtp slot is that everyone people talk about is trying to do tim russert. no one is going to out russert russert. They need to look outside the box for someone who has a style different than russert, trying to copy him is a recipe for big let down.

I never really liked Russert’s interviewing style–he was popular for asking “gotcha” and loaded questions to politicians from both sides of the aisle, and a lot of people mistook that for reasonable and moderate journalism. He may not have shown any political bias, but he was very much part of what’s wrong with journalism today–that is to say, a lack of serious focus on the issues that matter and a concern more with being entertaining than informative. I think Chuck Todd would be a big improvement over Russert.

    Justin,

Would you really be surprised if Missouri went for Obama? I wouldn’t. I think he has a better ground game and that the likely voter polls this year are undercounting the active youth vote.
