When Gov. Palin’s daughter’s pregnancy became a national attention by medias, Sen. Obama come forward and tried to defend it as a completely family and personal issue. But I am disgusted to see that Gov. Palin go all over US and tell people this Sen. Barack Obama is paling around terrorists. Just disappointed.

Here we go again–the report is meaningless. The legislature has no authority to pursue this further, BUT

The report can be read either way–exonerating her for the firing of Monegan, and saying she violated ethics laws. So Sarah P spins it one way; the liberal press spins it the other. Just how important is this issue?

Really, does an ongoing feud with one ex-brother-in-law rise to the level of the accusations Obama faces including his involvement with ACORN, radical America-hating churches, his alliance with terrorists-turned-socialist Ayers?

Based on the accusations alone, which candidate is more dangerous to our U.S. institutions and system of government?

In a desperate attempt to spin this mess, Palin is now claiming that the Troopergate investigation clears her of any wrongdoing, which it does not. The Branchflower (Troopergate) report found that she violated Alaska's Executive Branch Ethics Law in firing Public Safety Commisioner Walter Monegan to settle a family vendetta. We can't afford eight more years of another administration that abuses their power. This is an understandable political miscalculation. She probably just assumes that the rest of America is like her, and does not read newspapers or news magazines.

At this point, it does not matter if Palin was within her legal right to fire Monegan and it does not matter it she thinks the legislative investigation had turned into “a political circus” (Palin, in the 10/12 phone interview). Even the FIRST finding that she HAD breached the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act might not matter that much in and of itself. And, that she did not do so for money does NOT matter, because there are infinite types of personal gain. In this case, she seems to have done it to indulge and abet an unethical and illegal personal vendetta. Palin’s acts demonstrate that she is unethical and vindictive. That is bad enough, yet she might have been able to get away with such character flaws because of her popularity.

Problem is, without being “set up” by the media, and while being recorded for an interview, she told a blatant, boldfaced lie about the legislature’s findings. Such an obvious falsehood is not political spinning, it is not campaigning, it is clearly pathological.

In addition to poor judgment and poor impulse control, this particular lie also demonstrates ABJECT contempt for the Legislature. A person who has such gross disregard for the truth, the public and its laws is NOT fit for office. I implore the Legislature to sanction Palin, Alaskans to impeach her, and Americans to VOTE against her!

In her short time in office she has compiled a record of deception and self interest. It is a pity that she is being vetted by the media instead of John McCain, but that would have shown good judgement and leadership. Rich’s rant can easily be smashed to pieces by one simple fact… the legislative review of crazy Palin’s abuse of power was a bipartisan review… meaning (for Rich’s sake) it included republicans and democrats… who all found that she abused her power… you can take your liberal media bias claims and shove it… the media did not issue this bipartisan report… god some people in this country are stupid, its scary

Wow, and the Orwellian lie is working beautifully. Rich, she was within her constitutional authority because the state Constitution states that cabinet members can be fired for any reason at all. This is in no way a vindication of her unethical behavior, which the report _specifically_ cites. Please show me where Monegan was found to be a “dirty cop.” This is really disheartening to see such an unthoughtful comment. I don’t think troopergate is a game-changing moment but it is important, and we should try our best to apply critical and analytical thought to the situation, instead of consuming and regurgitating blatant, absurd talking points.

Liberal media bashing a conservative. Big surprise there.

I thought your big “troopergate” scandal had to do with Monegan being fired specifically for not terminating Trooper Wooten. If you actually read the report (instead of a liberal spin editorial), you will find that she was “within her consitiutional and statuatory authority” in firing of Monegan and that the Wooten issue was not the reason for his dismissal.

BTW, what’s so bad about getting a dirty cop off of the street, anyway?? I thought that liberals automatically thought ALL cops were corrupt. You get evidence that one is actually dirty, and now you scream about ethics because the person who is making the most noise about a bad cop is a conservative? hypocrits.
