Polling has long been a fixture of elections. But in the last few years, the polling industry has undergone unprecedented growth and there are now more polling firms than ever. Is this level of polling affecting the election?

The New Republic has a long and fascinating article on the influence, problems and infighting of the polling industry. As you know, not all polls are created equally. But this article really delves into the numerous ways polls can be misused and abused by the pollsters, pundits and politicians.
