Rasmussen: Obama Up By 5

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, McCain, Polls

Obama – 51%
McCain – 46%

McCain loses one and Obama gains one to stop McCain’s gains…at least for one day.

Rasmussen has the trends and such…

This is the 35th straight day that Obama’s support has been between 50% and 52%. With the exception of yesterday, McCain’s support has stayed between 44% and 46% during that stretch.

Within their own party, both candidates lead by identical 86% to 12% margins while Obama has a six-point advantage among unaffiliated voters.

Obama is now viewed favorably by 56% of voters nationwide, McCain by 54%.

We won’t know if Obama has regained a significant edge until a couple days from now, but if McCain had been able to hold his gains, today’s numbers probably would have lead steady from yesterday. At least that’s what I’ve noticed in the months I’ve been following Rasmussen’s polling. I could always be wrong and frequently am. :-)

The 5 day:
10/30/2008: McCain – 46%, Obama – 51%
10/29/2008: McCain – 47%, Obama – 50%
10/28/2008: McCain – 46%, Obama – 51%
10/27/2008: McCain – 45%, Obama – 51%
10/26/2008: McCain – 44%, Obama – 52%

More tomorrow…
