AP Uncalls Minnesota Senate Race

The race between Norm Coleman and Al Franken, which has Coleman in the lead by about 600 votes, went LATE into the night (hence the picture above), but was called earlier this morning for Coleman.
Well, now the AP has taken that back and a recount is imminent…
Republican Sen. Norm Coleman finished ahead of Democrat Al Franken early Wednesday in the final vote count, but his 571-vote margin falls within the state’s mandatory recount law. That law requires a recount any time the margin between the top two candidates is less than one-half of one percent.The AP called the race prematurely.
Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie said the recount won’t begin until mid-November at the earliest and will probably stretch into December. It will involve local election officials from around the state.
This one could actually swing to Franken, and that would put the Senate at 57 Dems, 41 Repubs and 2 Indies. At least at this point. There are still a couple races yet to be decided.
