Does anyone seriously think that, even with an Obama victory, we’ve heard the last of the perpetual victim crowd that uses “racism” as a mantra whenever anything goes wrong in their lives. Personally, I doubt it!

Yes, Obama won, but what does that mean for the future. I fear for the financial well-being of my children when Obama imposes higher taxes.

I voted for Nader not Obama. I will be watching Obama very carefully during his first term. If he can deliver even a fraction of the ideals he has espoused I would likely be won over and converted. But talk is cheap. And pretty looks even cheaper.

Three thing must happen for me to believe in this guy:

1. He needs to protect one of America’s most successful programs–Social Security from Wall Street speculators that wish to “save” Social Security by privatizing it.

2. He needs to bring healthcare profiteers back to earth. All Americans deserve to be healthy. And if you think the world “socialist” when you hear this you are in the minority, not the majority.

3. I don’t expect Obama to extricate us from the Iraq quagmire in a few years but our troops need to be removed by the end of his first term. If not, then it’s obvious Obama has sided with the weapons industry and not acted on his word.

As for Obama being the “thing that makes America great.” Huh! I’m a pale white guy. Obama is whiter than I am. He plays in an exclusive club. I find nothing “amazing” about his being elected. Even if he is “black.” Whatever that means. He’s also faced none of the privations most African Americans face in this country so stop pretending this guy is a ghetto black man that clawed his way to the highest echelons of this land. He’s a rich capitalist that shares interests with his capitalist peers not Kunta Kente.

yes. i think this is not completely appreciated here.

parents all over the nation will point to obama and tell their kids ‘this can be you. he made it. so can you.’

for anyone to be able to look at that and say ‘this is what is possible in america’

that is indeed very special.
