Krauthammer is obviously no admirer of either Clinton or Putin, and I found this column as snarky as anything else he&#039;s written about Obama (and he&#039;s written a lot).  Moreover, blaming the whole thing on the financial meltdown is disingenuous and surely Krauthammer knew it.  The only time McCain led in the polls was after the Republican convention and the Palin bounce was already starting to fade when the financial tsunami hit: Andrew Sullivan, for instance, showed a graph demonstrating that the downturn for McCain, and upturn for Obama, started a week  before Lehman.</description>
