She'll have far more leverage to push through things like healthcare from the sec of state seat than from the senate, especially given her supposed skills at back-room maneuvers. It does not explain why Clinton would take it. I'm guessing they got together for Obama to pitch her, for Hillary to turn it down cold, and then explain what she really wants.
