What will the Clinton's not do to stay in power. Bill had a failed Presidency, is a liar, and a sexual addict. The real idiots are the ones who pay him $400,000 to hear what he has to say. And Hillary....well she is not much better. She is a proven liar and a criminal.

Excellent analogy with the track star. But I think it's worse than that, it's more like picking not the sprinter, but the marathon runner to return kicks. He would just be the wrong guy for the job:

Anyone else here ready for a ban on the phrase Chicago-style politics every time someone who lived in, went to school in, or served politically in the same state as Chicago is under discussion?

Before Hillary Clinton can become Secretary of State:

1)	Bill Clinton must provide a complete listing of all donors to his foundation and presidential library.

2)	Both Bill and Hillary Clinton need to clearly indicate that any and all private financial dealings and other interactions with foreign leaders are now over, unless specifically authorized by the US government.

3)	Hillary Clinton needs to publically discuss exactly what her approach to the job of Secretary of State would be and clearly indicate how she would be able to perform that job without any conflict of interest whatsoever.

If Bill and Hillary Clinton are unwilling or unable to comply with the above requirements or similar ones provided by the Obama administration, Hillary Clinton should not become Secretary of State. The ball is in the Clinton’s court.

An alternate hypothesis is that this means she's not going to take the job, and so Bill is saying this now so that he won't be blamed after she doesn't get the job.

My guess is that the driving force on this has been the desire to farm out the leader of the DLC faction...to the state department. Sos is a prestigious spot, but still one where you serve at the President's discretion, and one where HC would have no impact on legislation. And let's face it, being SoS given the problems in the middle east is as thankless a job as referee at a peewee soccer game.

I think HC did a very good job representing a tough democratic approach to foreign policy while running for President. But it's just not her raison d'etre. She's a domestic policy wonk.
