Jeb Bush Talks About GOP’s Future

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in Bush, Conservatism, Republicans, Video

He says that they can’t be the “old white guy party,” he acknowledges that people are sick of partisanship and he even has some praise for Obama’s first moves as President elect.

From NewsMax…

Regardless of whether or not you agree with him, we definitely got the lesser Bush son as president. This guy would have been better, but there’s no way he’ll ever be viable as a candidate. W ruined it for him.

By the way, he gives Bobby Jindal a shout out as the model of a good Republican Governor.

Paging 2012…

You forgot to mention that Jeb, is also pushing for the republicans to start a Shadow Government to undermined Obama. Which if said by anyone else, in any other country , would be considered an atrocity by the USA. Not when a Republican and especially a Bush ask for this. Then, its seen as ok for some strange reason.

    JDdoolittle,

    Get your facts straight.

What Bush suggested is that the GOP follow the practice of opposition parties in nations like Great Britain, elsewhere in Europe, and many other nations that have a Parliamentary form of Government whereby the party in opposition appoints people to a “shadow cabinet” as a means of offering policy proposals in opposition to the ruling government.

It’s called the “loyal opposition” in some contexts, and while I don’t think it is a model that is adaptable to the way we do things in the United States, there’s absolutely nothing sinister about it.

What I love about the people pushing Jindal is that they apparently don’t think that this will make moderate independents and Democrats think three times (Twice just isn’t enough.) about Jindal.
