However, when picking someone for such a slot you have to consider the ability to re-elect the person, and Caroline Kennedy has the name recognition to have a be in the Senate a while. With her background and family ties, I think any inexperience on her part could be overcome quickly but there are those who want someone who has been fighting the President for the the last 8 years.
