While I see this as more cluelessness and tone-deafness than racism, I was under the impression that leadership was supposed to be <i>good</i> at managing their public image - apparently I've had unrealistic expectations. Sigh. Then-Senator Obama had lots of things which are lampoonable without being tacky/offensive: why in the world would THIS be what gets picked out? Ugh. I should go wash my hands...
