Chuck Todd On First “100 Days”

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in Barack, Video

First off, Happy New Year to you and yours. Hope everybody had a great time.

Now then…the guy who should be hosting Meet The Press is instead discussing the expectations of Obama’s first three months.

I agree that it’s less the first 100 days as it’s the first 6 months to a year. But the media needs a nice round number and so we have to talk about these things with some degree of seriousness. Good times.

So then, how long do you think voters will give Obama since we’re in such a mess currently? Will the economic numbers have to turn around significantly or will it simply be the passage of a massive economic stimulus that signals success for voters?

Wow, what the media should avoid snap judgments of overly complicated issues….

If Obama can accomplish that, then maybe something will change.

He’s really getting thrown into a mess at first, but that’s spot on about society having a short attention span. I’m afraid people will just expect him to snap his fingers and, poof, it’s all better.

I’ll be more interested to see how many months it will take before the nation’s issues cease to be blamed on W.
