Alistair, I have no doubt that Blunt will stay popular in his part of the state. I just question his popularity outside of the southern parts of Missouri.

Roy Blunt will always be popular in my district in Greene county & Southwestern Missouri because of his Pro-life stance. There as been talk that he may run for Senate and his son may take his seat and run for congress, which i doubt. Ken Hulsolf or Sarah Steelman will most likely be running during the Republican Primary while Robin Carnahan will run of the Democratic side.

The interesting question in Missouri is whether or not Blunt's son has tarnished the family name. Blunt may be popular in his section of the state but his son is the former governor of Missouri for a reason. His popularity after the Republicans slashed Medicaid plunged almost to Bush levels. The Democrats are talking about Robin Carnahan running. I think she would have a very good shot at defeating Blunt should he choose to run.
