Or at least as effective as anything else? Does that mean, hypothetically, that we've reached the bottom of the slippery slope and that type of torture under that circumstance is therefore morally appropriate? It seems then that waterboarding itself not <em>intrinsically</em> wrong, but only if it leads to something worse and unexcusable. And the question still remains.
