See, this is why republicans have trouble (well, one reason of many). They need to pull the corn cob out of their nether regions and stop grasping for things to criticize the Obama administration about. They need to be a party of ideas expressed in a compelling way, not stodgy high school principals complaining about how kids these days, with their clothes and their hair, have no respect.

Moving on....

I would rather have a President in the Oval Office wearing board shorts and flip flops than one who uses the Constitution as toilet paper.

If this is the worst thing Card has to gripe about, he should count himself lucky.

It's a generational sociopolitical divide. If you are GOP and a boomer, a dress code is important. Otherwise, not so much.

There are bastions, but the trend to casual attire has pretty much won the day in most places. Get over it Andy. The vast majority of people are unlikely to go back to white shirts and suits and ties and so on. It's too much of a time and money sink.

And it'll go even further over the next decade as more and more and more people adopt high-performance synthetic fabrics that resist fading and wrinkling. Not saying we'll all be wearing Buck Rogers satin jump suits. But the brooks brothers costume is something that anyone who can avoid, will.

Card won't mind when he's dead.

I believe what Mr. Card is saying is that it's important to be properly attired when shredding the Constitution. Anything less shows disrespect to that holiest of documents.
