I laughed until I cried. Then I realized how depressing this is and cried for real. Are the Republicans trying to implode themselves? They are taking serious advice from a damned real life Dale Gribble.

I find the obsession of GOP critics with JTP comical. It suits the eagerness of folks to spew anti-GOP vitriol. So they pretend that JTP has been granted the exact same status as every other "consultant".

Only a moron would think he's anywhere near the inner circle. The GOP is smart enough to know that despite his faults, JTP has populist appeal with their rank and file. So they've co-opted him, brought him on board in a minor role, and they're using him as a sort of a canary in a coal mine.

And that's a great analogy, because a canary makes a GREAT "consultant" if you are worried about fumes. And JTP has a brain of similar size to a canary.

But all this manufacturing of stunned horror, as though JTP #1 has nothing at all to offer the GOP, and #2 has been accorded smething akin to Gingrichian insight status? Spare me. It rings false, and reminds me of how republicans behaved in the wake of Cindy Sheehan.

Sadly the GOP will never listen to Michael Steele and instead would rather listen to man who's real name in Samuel!
