Ok, so a 12 oz bag for $11 works out to $14.67 per pound. If I buy one 12 oz bag for $11 and get another bag free, and am charged $3.75 per bag for shipping, then I get 24 oz for $18.50, which is 12.33/lb. Neither counts as anything resembling a good deal in my world.

If you are into gourmet coffee, you can get it for 7-10/lb. Trader Joe's sells a very nice dark sumatra for $4.99 for a 12oz can, which i less than $7/lb. But unfortunately this coffee lacks the delicious sanctimony of the fair trade seal of approval.

Of course, even the $12-$15/lb coffee is a bargain compared to buying it one cup at a time from Fourbucks. :-) But then maybe you should be supporting your local barista. Decisions, decisions, decisions. It can be pretty hard to navigate a day when politics infuses every choice, huh?

I may have to give this a try. My current favorite brew is a blend of my own concoction from a local roaster (not a chain) - 50% French Roast - 50% Costa Rica.

I call it Costa Roasta.
