Joe The Plumber On Shooting Dissenters

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in Partisan Hacks, Video, WTF?

Okay folks, I don’t care what party or political philosophy you subscribe to, but it’s time we all roundly shun this clearly fascist hack.

Here’s the transcript…

Back in the day, really, when people would talk about our military in a poor way, somebody would shoot ‘em. And there’d be nothing said about that, because they knew it was wrong. You don’t talk about our troops. You support our troops. Especially when our congressmen and senators sit there and say bad things in an ongoing conflict.

Let’s just forget that Wurzelbacher is giving a thumbs up to violent fascism and instead put the lie to what he’s saying happened in America. Because who reading this post remembers a time in our history when people were routinely shot for criticizing the military? Anybody?

Sure, that happened in socialist states like China and Russia (still happens in China), but this has never been the standard operating procedure in the US. I suppose one could argue that Americans have been injured or accidentally killed for protesting against military action, but not without massive public backlash. And why Joe doesn’t realize this is beyond me.

As I’ve said in the past, McCain should apologize to the country for elevating this guy as the “Everyman” when he’s anything but.

shun, shun–and let this be the last time we ever see this guy’s name anywhere (pretty please)

  2. Ryan Says:

With statments like that, absolutely maniacal statements, I hope he continues being the flag for Republicans, the one to which I call attention for his continuing calls to press the case for fascism.

  3. J. Harden Says:

Joe the Plumber is a facist because he makes a goofy statements — agreed. But the guy on the verge of nationalizing the banking industry on the other hand…the very economic definition of facism!! We have to be much more careful these days in throwing around the word “fascist” — or we can simply make up our own definition.

  4. Jim S Says:

Harden proves yet again that he understands nothing of how various political labels should be defined or what’s really going on with the financial system.

  5. gerryf Says:

Wow, J Harden, I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a glaring lack of understanding of the term “fascist”.

All the ists and isms blurring together for you? See, this is the problem with the right, they think if they say something loud enough and often enough it must be true.

Ironically, the closest we’ve ever come in this country to fascism was under W.’s regime, but even though I couldn’t stand him, I wouldn’t try to label him as a fascist with a straight face. You, however, think if you slap enough exclamation points after it that it will make it so. Sad, really.

  6. J. Harden Says:

Justin – He’s kind of hurting my feelings, shouldn’t you threaten to ban him or something?

Jim S. — Please enlighten us with “what’s really going on with the financial system”. I concede near total ignorance on the subject. But I’m a curious fellow my nature and I want to learn. Me proving a negative (my lack of understanding) does very little for humanity or our country. Please, “prove” that you know “what’s really going on with the financial system” and then I will humbly follow your lead in such matters.

  7. J. Harden Says:

gerryf — When the feds start taking an equity stake in corporations…call it what you will. I call it the economics of fascism and I can look at Mussilini among others and see historically and economic parallels. CitiBank is Obama’s new instituti or enti nazioali. Look, at least I take the time to cloak my ignorance with little bit of read’in. I can’t say the same for you.

  8. Ryan Says:

So which is it, Fascism or Communism?

  9. ascap_scab Says:

Two words: Kent State. This is the America ‘Sam the Unemployed Sprinkler Installer’ wants.
