@ shane, If what bill said was clever, you would say that it was clever, not that you’re “pretty sure” it was clever. When someone cannot articulate what they mean, that’s a lack of cleverness.

The biggest irony to me is that one the smartest people I know when it comes to politics and government insisted that Obama was an “empty suit.”

Palin, for my money, fits this description to a T. Talk about a blank canvas for conservatives to project their ideals upon. With every day that passes, Palin seems more and more like a carefully crafted show. Al script, no improv. She’s like a band that plays their songs note-for-note the same when they play live.

What’s still missing, to me, are the real chops. She still comes across to me as quite minor league, not very considered in her views, and well, superficial. She seems to me be very little more than an attractive product being marketed by a host of eager backers.

Ultimately, I still find her extraordinarily unconvincing, if the goal of her team is to make me think she is a strong leader with considered depth of conviction. She seems to have no ideas that are wholly her own, and does not demonstrate the depth of understanding and conviction that is evident when someone has thought hard and long about things and grasped the details inside and out.

Call me crazy, but IF we didn’t already know Palin and her ambitions, and IF she was working to come up with an alternative to support programs to help economically disadvantaged and special needs students, I would actually admire her for standing on principal.

There actually is something to be said for being against unfunded mandates and temporary funding from Washington that will put your state on the hook later on.

However, we know that Palin is a political opportunist who is making a calculated move while meanwhile not giving a rip about economically disadvantaged and special needs students (She’s proved this in past budgets even after campaigning otherwise).

Obama’s stimulus package was ill-conceived and there were too many things (the wrong things) inserted into it and some of these programs are examples of that.

The same nonsense was said about Ronald Reagan:pretty boy(girl,in Palin’s case),former sportscaster,Governor of a western state,not too bright,etc.

Palin? Obama? which will make a better president if that’s the question,
To everyone that is asking this question I have a word of advice. How if we start to judge and pick people on their past achievement and not how great they will be in the future. Talk is cheap . So make your homework before voting. It’s not like you can fire them when ever you want. YOU ARE STUCK WITH YOUR CHOICE FOR FOUR YEARS.

Palin is the Democrat’s best friend. A poll shows she gets beat by Obama 55 to his 35 in a Presidential matchup. If she wins the nomination, Obama will be a two term President.

On a sidenote, Palin is an idiot, a hypocrite and a racist.

Can’t we just not talk about this woman anymore? She’s a niche politician in a state that is the largest per-capita receiver of federal dollars. Everything she says is calculated to deceive and ignore reality – providing she trys to think before she speaks. She has no place and no long term future in national politics. She’s a non player from a politically irrelevant state. However, she is part of cabal of untalented republicans who actually think their tired, irrational message still resonates. We are going to hear from a balanced conservative – with actual new ideas in 2012. I don’t think any of us know who that person is at this point. I can promise it won’t be any of the current favorites, and it’s probably someone with little to no national exposure at this point. I think it’s too soon to focus on the next election, we have too many things to get done right now and Palin and her pals add nothing to a positive public discourse.

See, the thing is…. Sarah Palin STILL has more executive experience than Barack Obama, and she still will in 2012. In spite of the media-grabbing bottom feeding attacks on her, she is very intelligent person, with a lot of career experience behind her, and her track record in Alaska is VERY good, particularly compared to any one of her predecessors. By 2012 we will see a very polished Palin. (I would also note, I am not a Palin supporter. But I am really sick of seeing her trashed all over the place for having a stance, and standing her ground.)
