&quot;This could anger a lot of folks on the left, but I think itâ€™s an incredibly dangerous precedent to prosecute folks for following orders&quot;  That said, we did it in WWII and found that saying you were following orders was no excuse so I do think once again that it makes us look like hypocrites. Should we let this go completely, I think it will guarantee that it will happen again. Nixon got us Iran-Contra, Iran Contra got us Bush Cheney. We either have core principles or we don&#039;t. I remember a time where if you said we tortured people it would have been considered unAmerican because.&quot; of course we were a better people than that and we would never go there&quot; Someone should make sure we never go there again. We are better than that, or were before he tortured people in our names.</description>
